Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2012 Christies in London held the auction The Italian Sale, which included the work Metrocubo D'Infinito (Cubic Meter of Infinity) by Michelangelo Pistoletto. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 690,850.00 (€ 858,950.79), 15% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michelangelo Pistoletto have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Uomo che guarda un negativo (Man Looking at a Negative) in October 2017 with an auction result of GBP 3,721,250.00 (€ 4,242,953.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Italian Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Metrocubo D'Infinito (Cubic Meter of Infinity) von Michelangelo Pistoletto zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 690.850,00 (€ 858.950,79) und damit 15% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michelangelo Pistoletto auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Uomo che guarda un negativo (Man Looking at a Negative) im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.721.250,00 (€ 4.242.953,40).
