Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Michel Anguier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I auction, the work Pluton mélancolique sold for EUR 799,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 300,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Michel Anguier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Neptune agité sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of EUR 1,525,000.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Michel Anguier erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session I wurde die Arbeit Pluton mélancolique für EUR 799.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 300.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Michel Anguier; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Neptune agité im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 1.525.000,00.
