In December 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work German tall Ship Off Crete by Michael Zeno Diemer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,998.89), 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Zeno Diemer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work German view Of The Bosphorus With Rumelihisari in May 2013 with an auction result of GBP 86,500.00 (€ 101,132.01).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit German tall Ship Off Crete von Michael Zeno Diemer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.998,89) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Zeno Diemer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit German view Of The Bosphorus With Rumelihisari im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 86.500,00 (€ 101.132,01).
