Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May this year Bonhams held the auction Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner, which included the work Stranded by Michael McGuire. The »bidding war« ended at USD 484.50 (€ 454.76), 21% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Michael McGuire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Two works: Beached 2 and Three Dories on the Shore, which sold at auction in May this year for USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,136.90).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Studio Art | Bonhams Skinner durch, in der auch die Arbeit Stranded von Michael McGuire zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 484,50 (€ 454,76) und damit 21% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Michael McGuire mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Two works: Beached 2 and Three Dories on the Shore beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.136,90) versteigert wurde.
