Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Rouge, Study 5, Deerborn, Michigan; and Sticks in Water, Lake Shinzi, Japan 2 by Michael Kenna was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in August last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,900.15) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Michael Kenna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,242.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Rouge, Study 5, Deerborn, Michigan; and Sticks in Water, Lake Shinzi, Japan 2 von Michael Kenna kam im August letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.900,15) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Michael Kenna auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.242,85).
