Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Strong Man with Famous Monument by Michael Kenna was sold in the The Male Form auction at Bonhams in New York in June last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,156.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Michael Kenna have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,242.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Strong Man with Famous Monument von Michael Kenna wurde im Juni letzten Jahres in der Auktion The Male Form bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.156,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
