Auction result misses estimated price range
In August last year a collector was able to acquire the work Paint Brushes by Michael Kenna for USD 637.50 (€ 633.38). This price was achieved in the auction PhotographsSummer Cut at Bonhams in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Michael Kenna achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 13,750.00 (€ 11,242.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Paint Brushes von Michael Kenna für USD 637,50 (€ 633,38) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion PhotographsSummer Cut bei Bonhams in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Michael Kenna erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Six works: Kussharo Lake Tree; Incense Holders; Dusk Island Shrine; Island Shrine; Hashikui Rocks; Tree and Mountain im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 11.242,85).
