Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Don Juan and Little Man: A Pair of Bookends by Melvin Warren was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 812.50 (€ 714.03). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Melvin Warren achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Chisholm Trail in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 54,925.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Don Juan and Little Man: A Pair of Bookends von Melvin Warren im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 812,50 (€ 714,03) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Melvin Warren erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Chisholm Trail im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 54.925,74).
