Sold at the lower estimate price
The work Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a pastoral dress with a feathered hat; and Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a fur-trimmed black coat and feathered hat by Melchior Brassauw was sold in the Old Master and 19th Century Art auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2009. The result of EUR 2,500.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Melchior Brassauw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Allegory of Touch; and An Allegory of Taste, which sold at auction in June 2015 for EUR 9,375.00.
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait of a lady, half-length, in a pastoral dress with a feathered hat; and Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a fur-trimmed black coat and feathered hat von Melchior Brassauw wurde im Oktober 2009 in der Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Art bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 2.500,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 2.500,00 – 3.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Melchior Brassauw mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An Allegory of Touch; and An Allegory of Taste beobachtet, die im Juni 2015 für EUR 9.375,00 versteigert wurde.
