A top price for Max Levis - as previously expected
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction Nineteenth Century European Art Including Russian Pictures, which included the work A maiden playing the lute by Max Levis. The price achieved of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 8,829.41) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, A maiden playing the lute is the most expensive artwork by Max Levis that we have observed at auctions so far.
