It achieved a price of USD 21,600.00 (€ 16,150.74), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 44%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Max Kalish - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Steelworker', which sold at auction in September 2010 for USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,762.00).

Die Arbeit The Structural Steel Worker von Max Kalish kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 21.600,00 (€ 16.150,74) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 44%. Für andere Arbeiten von Max Kalish mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Steelworker' beobachtet, die im September 2010 für USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.762,00) versteigert wurde.
