This artwork by Max Kalish achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in September 2010. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Foundryman sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 23,895.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Max Kalish; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Steelworker' sold at auction in September 2010 with the realized price of USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,762.00).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Max Kalish erzielte im September 2010 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture wurde die Arbeit Foundryman für USD 32.500,00 (€ 23.895,30) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Max Kalish; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Steelworker' im September 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.762,00).
