A top price for Mawalan Marika - as previously expected
The work The Seagull by Mawalan Marika was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 50,000.00 – 80,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,102.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, The Seagull is the most expensive artwork by Mawalan Marika that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit The Seagull von Mawalan Marika kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.102,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
