Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Desa in de omstreken van de hoofdplaats Malang by Maurits van den Kerkhoff was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in March 2012. It changed hands for a price of EUR 8,750.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maurits van den Kerkhoff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work View of a kampong with possibly the Smeroe in the background, which sold at auction in April 2010 for EUR 22,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Desa in de omstreken van de hoofdplaats Malang von Maurits van den Kerkhoff kam im März 2012 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 8.750,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Maurits van den Kerkhoff mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit View of a kampong with possibly the Smeroe in the background beobachtet, die im April 2010 für EUR 22.500,00 versteigert wurde.
