This artwork by Maurice Wilks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Olympia in June 2007. In the 20th Century British & Irish Art auction, the work Connemara sold for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 4,451.85) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Maurice Wilks have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Turf Gatherer in March 2011 with an auction result of GBP 24,375.00 (€ 27,580.20).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurice Wilks erzielte im Juni 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Connemara für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 4.451,85) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maurice Wilks auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Turf Gatherer im März 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 24.375,00 (€ 27.580,20).
