This artwork by Maurice Denis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October this year. In the La Collection Sam Josefowitz: Dessins et Gravures de l'Ecole de Pont-Aven Online auction, the work Saint-Tropez sold for EUR 13,860.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Denis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Cuisinière in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,391,304.35).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurice Denis erzielte im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion La Collection Sam Josefowitz: Dessins et Gravures de l'Ecole de Pont-Aven Online wurde die Arbeit Saint-Tropez für EUR 13.860,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Maurice Denis erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit La Cuisinière im Mai 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.629.000,00 (€ 2.391.304,35).
