In October this year a collector was able to acquire the work L’Office de sainte Catherine ou Sainte Catherine récite l'office de Jésus by Maurice Denis for EUR 39,060.00. This price was achieved in the auction La Collection Sam Josefowitz: Vente du jour at Christies in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maurice Denis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Cuisinière in May 2015 with an auction result of USD 2,629,000.00 (€ 2,391,304.35).
