This artwork by Maurice Codner achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2012. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work The Green Table sold for GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,180.42) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Admittedly, works by Maurice Codner have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of Mrs. Dorothy Martin, half-length, in a black dress, ermine stole and jade earrings in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,005.65).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Maurice Codner erzielte im Mai 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wurde die Arbeit The Green Table für GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.180,42) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Maurice Codner auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of Mrs. Dorothy Martin, half-length, in a black dress, ermine stole and jade earrings im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.005,65).
