Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2003 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work An Italianate landscape with travellers on a hilly path near a villa by Mathys Schoevaerdts. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 10,716.61). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathys Schoevaerdts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 299,500.00 (€ 306,959.11).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2003 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate landscape with travellers on a hilly path near a villa von Mathys Schoevaerdts zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 8.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 8.225,00 (€ 10.716,61) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mathys Schoevaerdts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 299.500,00 (€ 306.959,11).
