Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Coastal Landscape With Merchants And Peasants; And A Coastal Landscape With Fishermen Loading Their Catch by Mathys Schoevaerdts was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in London in April 2004. The price achieved of GBP 15,535.00 (€ 13,957.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathys Schoevaerdts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 299,500.00 (€ 306,959.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Coastal Landscape With Merchants And Peasants; And A Coastal Landscape With Fishermen Loading Their Catch von Mathys Schoevaerdts wurde im April 2004 in der Auktion Old Master Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 299.500,00 (€ 306.959,11).
