Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2013 Artcurial held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Paintings, which included the work L'Arrivée Des Marchands Orientaux by Mathys Schoevaerdts. The price achieved of EUR 9,743.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathys Schoevaerdts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 299,500.00 (€ 306,959.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2013 führte Artcurial die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Arrivée Des Marchands Orientaux von Mathys Schoevaerdts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 9.743,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mathys Schoevaerdts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 299.500,00 (€ 306.959,11).
