Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2012 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Old Masters and 19th Century Art, which included the work A river landscape with figures on horseback and cattle outside a walled town by Mathys Schoevaerdts. The price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mathys Schoevaerdts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 299,500.00 (€ 306,959.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A river landscape with figures on horseback and cattle outside a walled town von Mathys Schoevaerdts zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 12.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mathys Schoevaerdts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 299.500,00 (€ 306.959,11).
