A top price for Matthew Ridley Corbet - as previously expected
In October 2020 Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Love's messenger by Matthew Ridley Corbet. The price achieved of GBP 13,812.50 (€ 15,337.60) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Love's messenger is the most expensive artwork by Matthew Ridley Corbet that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Oktober 2020 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Love's messenger von Matthew Ridley Corbet zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 13.812,50 (€ 15.337,60) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Love's messenger das teuerste Kunstwerk von Matthew Ridley Corbet, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
