Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,377.50 (€ 8,126.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Mattheus Derk Knip have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2001 the work An extensive wooded river landscape with shepherds and their cattle in the foreground, a city beyond was auctioned for NLG 21,150.00 (€ 9,795.76).
