Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Matteo di Giovanni di Bartolo achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2018. In the Old Masters Day Sale auction, the work The Madonna And Child sold for GBP 81,250.00 (€ 91,099.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 40,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Matteo di Giovanni di Bartolo; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Madonna and Child sold at auction in January 2005 with the realized price of USD 156,000.00 (€ 119,549.39).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Matteo di Giovanni di Bartolo erzielte im Juli 2018 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Day Sale wurde die Arbeit The Madonna And Child für GBP 81.250,00 (€ 91.099,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 40.000,00.
