Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of GBP 55,700.00 (€ 71,009.63) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mathys Schoevaerdts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A coastal scene with drovers and their herds and travellers in horse-drawn carts on a path, a harbour with shipping beyond; and An estuary with peasants in boats and along the shore, a town and shipping beyond; a pair in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 299,500.00 (€ 306,959.11).
