Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mary Proctor could be acquired at Christies in New York in February last year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Outsider Art auction, the work Story of the Father of Time, 1996 changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 556.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Proctor have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work I Met a Wise Old Man That Said if American Turn from God We Will Have Hard Days and Hard Nights and if You Make Your Bed Hard You Will Lay in It, 1995 in September 2014 with an auction result of USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,444.25).
