Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Mary Kessell could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art auction, the work Abstract changed hands for GBP 180.00 (€ 262.74) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Admittedly, works by Mary Kessell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Three heads in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 646.25 (€ 1,083.45).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Mary Kessell konnte im Mai 2006 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art wechselte die Arbeit Abstract für GBP 180,00 (€ 262,74) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mary Kessell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Three heads im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 646,25 (€ 1.083,45).
