Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The harbour, Mevagissey by Mary Jewels was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in October 2008. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 2,071.29). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mary Jewels - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cornubia, which sold at auction in November 2000 for GBP 4,700.00 (€ 7,681.96).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The harbour, Mevagissey von Mary Jewels wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 2.071,29) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Mary Jewels mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cornubia beobachtet, die im November 2000 für GBP 4.700,00 (€ 7.681,96) versteigert wurde.
