Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2018 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Portrait of a boy in military dress with his hand on a sword, three-quarter-length by Martin Mijtens I. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,721.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 10,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Martin Mijtens I - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Esther swooning before Ahasuerus, which sold at auction in December 2021 for GBP 21,500.00 (€ 25,644.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2018 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a boy in military dress with his hand on a sword, three-quarter-length von Martin Mijtens I zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.721,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Martin Mijtens I mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Esther swooning before Ahasuerus beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für GBP 21.500,00 (€ 25.644,99) versteigert wurde.
