It achieved a price of EUR 11,340.00 exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 42 %. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marlene Dumas achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 3,177,250.00 (€ 4,036,731.89).

Die Arbeit Dorothy D-lite von Marlene Dumas wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von EUR 11.340,00 und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 42 %. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marlene Dumas erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.177.250,00 (€ 4.036.731,89).
