The »bidding war« ended at EUR 2,232.00 49% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mario Avallone - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vele in costiera, 1942, which sold at auction in December 2001 for ITL 5,880,000.00 (€ 5,284.80).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 2.232,00 und damit 49% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mario Avallone mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vele in costiera, 1942 beobachtet, die im Dezember 2001 für ITL 5.880.000,00 (€ 5.284,80) versteigert wurde.
