Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pierot in a pigsty by Marinus van der Maarel was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,160.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marinus van der Maarel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Children playing on the beach, which sold at auction in April 2007 for EUR 6,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Pierot in a pigsty von Marinus van der Maarel kam im Januar 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 2.160,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Marinus van der Maarel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Children playing on the beach beobachtet, die im April 2007 für EUR 6.000,00 versteigert wurde.
