This artwork by Marinus Johannes Drulman achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in February 2004. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work The windmill De Slaper with the village of Berkel in the distance sold for EUR 2,629.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marinus Johannes Drulman; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Activities in Rotterdam harbour sold at auction in January 2006 with the realized price of EUR 3,840.00.
