Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale, which included the work Italian A Caravan At Rest by Mariano De Franceschi. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,899.54) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Mariano De Franceschi have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2009 the work An Arab Market was auctioned for USD 10,625.00 (€ 7,578.46).

Im Oktober 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italian A Caravan At Rest von Mariano De Franceschi zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.899,54) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Mariano De Franceschi konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2009 die Arbeit An Arab Market für USD 10.625,00 (€ 7.578,46) versteigert.
