Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2017 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings, which included the work Two Ladies In An Interior Reading A Letter, With A Dog On A Bench Looking Into A Mirror by Marguerite Gérard. The price achieved of USD 125,000.00 (€ 109,543.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marguerite Gérard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La Toilette De Minette, which sold at auction in June 2017 for EUR 415,500.00.

Im Juni 2017 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two Ladies In An Interior Reading A Letter, With A Dog On A Bench Looking Into A Mirror von Marguerite Gérard zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 125.000,00 (€ 109.543,42) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Marguerite Gérard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit La Toilette De Minette beobachtet, die im Juni 2017 für EUR 415.500,00 versteigert wurde.
