Upper estimated price slightly exceeded

In November 2000 Christies in New York held the auction Arts of France, which included the work The Bather by Marguerite Gérard. The »bidding war« ended at USD 58,750.00 (€ 67,575.34), 18% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marguerite Gérard have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work La Toilette De Minette in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 415,500.00.

Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen

Im November 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Arts of France durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Bather von Marguerite Gérard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 58.750,00 (€ 67.575,34) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marguerite Gérard auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit La Toilette De Minette im Juni 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 415.500,00.
