Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Marguerite Gérard could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2014 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Paintings auction, the work A Family In An Interior Playing With A Dog changed hands for USD 50,000.00 (€ 36,523.01) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marguerite Gérard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work La Toilette De Minette in June 2017 with an auction result of EUR 415,500.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Marguerite Gérard konnte im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings wechselte die Arbeit A Family In An Interior Playing With A Dog für USD 50.000,00 (€ 36.523,01) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marguerite Gérard erzielen.
