In August 2002 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work The Studio Window by Margaret Preston. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 19,975.00 (€ 11,193.41), 33% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Margaret Preston achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Australian Native Flowers, 1941, in April 2021 with an auction result of AUD 504,300.00 (€ 419,202.00).

Im August 2002 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Studio Window von Margaret Preston zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 19.975,00 (€ 11.193,41) und damit 33% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Margaret Preston erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Australian Native Flowers, 1941, im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 504.300,00 (€ 419.202,00).
