In September 2014 Christies in London held the auction The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision, which included the work The winds fly fast to their home by Margaret Rice Oxley. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,766.11), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Rice Oxley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A voyage of dreams, which sold at auction in September 2014 for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,853.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im September 2014 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Neil Wilson Collection: A Romantic Vision durch, in der auch die Arbeit The winds fly fast to their home von Margaret Rice Oxley zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.766,11) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Rice Oxley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A voyage of dreams beobachtet, die im September 2014 für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.853,34) versteigert wurde.
