In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work Female nude with panthers by Margaret Maitland Howard. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 940.00 (€ 1,472.05), 57% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Maitland Howard - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Madonna enthroned, which sold at auction in September 2014 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,816.68).

Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Female nude with panthers von Margaret Maitland Howard zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 940,00 (€ 1.472,05) und damit 57% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Maitland Howard mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Madonna enthroned beobachtet, die im September 2014 für GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.816,68) versteigert wurde.
