Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2017 a collector was able to acquire the work Recording The Weight by Margaret Dovaston for USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,790.25). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Dovaston - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Legal Point, which sold at auction in March 2008 for GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,562.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2017 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Recording The Weight von Margaret Dovaston für USD 6.250,00 (€ 5.790,25) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Master Paintings & 19th Century European Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Dovaston mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Legal Point beobachtet, die im März 2008 für GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.562,48) versteigert wurde.
