Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Battle Scene by Marco Dente was worth GBP 21,250.00 (€ 25,115.01) to a buyer in December 2019. This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Prints at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Marco Dente; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Laocoön sold at auction in January 2021 with the realized price of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 28,271.53).
