Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings including Spanish Painting, The Orientalist Sale, and German, Austrian, Scandinavian and Symbolist Works, which included the work Spanish Paisaje Andaluz (Andalusian Landscape) by Manuel Barrón y Carrillo. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 10,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,311.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Manuel Barrón y Carrillo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work La batalla de Bailén, which sold at auction in October 2005 for EUR 30,000.00.
