Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 892.50 (€ 1,038.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Charles Walters D'Oyly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figures Crossing A Bridge In The Himalayas, which sold at auction in September 2021 for GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,670.26).

Die Arbeit Indian Coastal Scene von Charles Walters D'Oyly wurde im September 2021 in der Auktion Travel & Exploration bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 892,50 (€ 1.038,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
