Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Iraqipeace (From The Confusionism Series) by Mahmoud Obaidi was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,048.07). Admittedly, works by Mahmoud Obaidi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Farewell Kiss in October 2014 with an auction result of USD 62,500.00 (€ 49,880.29).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Iraqipeace (From The Confusionism Series) von Mahmoud Obaidi im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.048,07) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahmoud Obaidi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Farewell Kiss im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 49.880,29).
