Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ngalyipi (Snake Vine) Jukurrpa by Maggie Watson Napangardi was sold in the Aboriginal Art auction at Sothebys in Melbourne in July 2009. The price achieved of AUD 12,600.00 (€ 7,133.64) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Maggie Watson Napangardi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work DIGGING STICK STORY, 1995 in December 2020 with an auction result of USD 88,200.00 (€ 72,117.74).

Die Arbeit Ngalyipi (Snake Vine) Jukurrpa von Maggie Watson Napangardi wurde im Juli 2009 in der Auktion Aboriginal Art bei Sothebys in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 12.600,00 (€ 7.133,64) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden.
