This artwork by MacDonald Gill achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2014. In the Vintage Posters auction, the work Landkaart Van Ceylon sold for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,994.35) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by MacDonald Gill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens, which sold at auction in October 2012 for GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,879.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von MacDonald Gill erzielte im Mai 2014 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Vintage Posters wurde die Arbeit Landkaart Van Ceylon für GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.994,35) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von MacDonald Gill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peter Pan Map of Kensington Gardens beobachtet, die im Oktober 2012 für GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.879,09) versteigert wurde.
