Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work I'm as happy as can be, Robin's come to be with me by Mabel Lucie Attwell. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,271.43) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mabel Lucie Attwell - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work We're going on a ride on dear old quack - all the way there and all the way back., which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 8,178.57).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.271,43) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
