Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by M. Suriyamoorthy was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,447.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by M. Suriyamoorthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Family Life Depiction), which sold at auction in March 2014 for USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,258.47).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von M. Suriyamoorthy kam im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.447,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von M. Suriyamoorthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Family Life Depiction) beobachtet, die im März 2014 für USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.258,47) versteigert wurde.
